Summary of the changes in July 2022

Trial period

From time to time, we may offer a subscription that starts with a free trial subscription (“trial period”). During the trial period, the user has access to our paid content. If the subscription is not canceled within the trial period, it converts into a paid subscription. You can find the details in section 4.7 of the Terms of Use.

Pausing your subscription

From time to time, we may offer the option to pause subscriptions with monthly payments for one or two months. While your subscription is paused, you won't be charged and you no longer have access to the paid content. After that, your subscription continues automatically. You can find the details in section 4.8 of the Terms of Use.

unlimited Family subscription

We now also offer an “unlimited Family subscription.” With this subscription, two users can use simpleclub, but it's cheaper than buying two subscriptions separately. One person signs up for the subscription, and the other doesn't have to pay anything (see section 4.9 of the Terms of Use for details).

Changes to the services

Sometimes we also change our services. For example, we make bug fixes or add a new feature. You can find details on how we change our services in section 5.2 of the Terms of Use.

Technical requirements

To use simpleclub or take part in the crash courses, your device and internet connection must meet certain technical requirements. In the future, you'll no longer find these technical requirements in the Terms of Use, but on this simpleclub web page.

Subscriptions from March 1, 2022

For subscriptions taken out through our website on or after March 1, 2022, the subscription no longer renews automatically for the same term after the base term you chose has ended, but for an indefinite period instead. After the base term, subscriptions are billed monthly and can then be canceled at any time at the end of a monthly billing period (you can find more details in sections 4.5.3 and 4.6.1 of the Terms of Use).

Unfortunately, we have no influence on the payment method and cancellation options for subscriptions taken out in the app. These continue to follow the rules of the app store provider.

“Cancellation button”

It has never been very complicated to cancel a subscription or a crash course with us. However, since the legislature now requires us to offer you a specific way to send us a cancellation notice, you'll now find a “Cancel contracts now” button on our website and in the app (you can find more details in section 4.6.3 of the Terms of Use). Here you can cancel subscriptions that were taken out through our website and crash courses.

If you took out the subscription in the app, your cancellation continues to follow the rules of the app store provider. You can find details on canceling a subscription for Apple's App Store here, for Google Play from Google here, and for Huawei's App Gallery here.
